Duct Tape Functional/Wearable Art
The Studio Art 8 class surprised me with their fun, unique takes on this project.  Each young lady designed a piece from scratch using their two-dimensional drawing abilities.  There were mock-ups made, tutorials watched, samples worn and brainstorming galore throughout this process.   The resulting works were either wearable and/or functional accessories.  A big thank you from all to Ali for taking the pictures!

Landmark Materials

"Practice Stroke Charts" done with two different points dipped in ink

The "Landmarks Project" is a mixed-media, multi-step one initially developed for this Discovery Class by Ms. Young three years ago.
There are a many places that hold special meaning to each person, and choosing just one to represent is not easy.  What you see are the photos of each student's drawing in progress, and some examples of the black permanent india ink laid over the pencil.

You can now view the finished paintings and each student's thoughts about her work.  The vibrant colors are an excellent complement to the previously laid ink-work and lines.  What a fantastic job these young ladies did!
